pandemia: Hii! I've been lurking on UTAU-related forums for years but haven't had the habit of registering accounts until lately. Nice to meet you!

Just a little curious--how did you all get your UTAU's names? Were they previous OCs of yours? Did you just really like the name beforehand? Is it based off of your own name? Did you use a generator? Does it reflect their personalities or designs? Did you choose it because it sounded nice or you liked the meaning?
I got NORiE's name from a name generator, tbh. She had like 10 names picked out before I settled on it (one of which--interestingly enough since, if I remember correctly, the user is active on this forum--was Sono). I'm not too sure on the translation--I've googled it a few times and I've gotten "inlet of benevolence", "doctrine", and "percept"--but I like to say it's "inlet of benevolence". Just sounds more... poetic, I suppose. Doesn't reflect her design at all, however. lol
Nyozeka: She was a cat owned by a rich family, who got hit by a car and nearly died. In an attempt to save her life, her owners put her soul into the body of an android. Her name comes from a sector of Buddhism known as "Nyoze" which believes very strongly in reincarnation, since she was "reincarnated" in a sense. It's also the same name of my favorite character from the first manga I ever read, Alice 19th.
Ai Yukine: His name translates "Love the sound of snow" because I recorded him during a snowstorm. His calm voice is modeled after the serenity and peaceful silence as the snow was falling.
Perri Penguine: Perri/Perry is just an english name. Penguine means "sound of penguin", because I think she sounds like a little penguin.
Sasha: A unisex name from Russia. Sasha was created by Russians during the cold war. He's also very feminine, so he was given a unisex name.

I have two created by me. :3
First off is Irene. Irene is the English 'version' of my name, Írena. xD It's the name of the Greek goddess of Peace. :3 Her last name, Uchiha, is written with the kanji for 'lantern', which I think fits her calmness. new word? xD She was an OC of mine beforehand, so I just stuck with her name. xD
Then there's Itou Kazuo. I actually took the names of my two favourite horror authors (Ito Junji and Umezu Kazuo) and mixed them together. ^w^' He was also an OC, however I changed his name. :3
My latest utau Kamokuon Shiina's name defines me XDD Kamokuon (寡黙音) - reticent sound - 'reticent' means not revealing one's thoughts or feelings readily, shy, preserved. Like how I didn't introduce Wajima Renji as an UTAU newcomer readily.
For Kinoa, her given name was suddenly decided by my boyfriend. It was like a combination between Inoue and Kiyo I do believe. It has no meaning other than that. But for fun facts, if you google search the katakana for it, you get this food called quinoa.
Irotei had more relevance to her old design, that allowed her hair to change color. (Being a banshee, this was more of a magical factor. ) Irotei is supposed to just mean "Change color". Since I liked how it sounded, I carried it over to the final naming.
Elliot Kan'on: Elliot is simply an English name that can used for men and women. Their last name was originally tairane meaning "smooth sound". Kan'on basically means " emotion sound" due to their very expressive voice. This UTAU is basically an ambiguous masculine character for their design is very androgynous. Can be gendered either way.
Muon Akira: Muon literally means "quiet" or "quiet sound" a reference to the fact that she doesn't talk much. Akira in the kanji I use means "clear" in reference to her clear quality.
Avery: It's basically just a unisex name because they are a genderless robot
