pandemia: Hii! I've been lurking on UTAU-related forums for years but haven't had the habit of registering accounts until lately. Nice to meet you!

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but anywhoo. I'm curious--how long does it take to record a VCCV English voicebank? I've asked a few people already and the answers have ranged from 35 minutes to a week.
It depends on how much time you have to spend on it. Like if you had a whole day by yourself, no interruptions, you could probably get it done in 35 minutes to 2 hours.

I don't know how anyone is taking less than a couple hours to do this owo We might have had a few distractions, but the quickest I've had someone record it was in 4 hours. it's not hard, as much as it is just a lot of sounds. If you know all of the sounds already it will probably take less.

I honestly can see it being recorded in half an hour BUT That would mean making no recording/pronunciation mistakes, and it'd leave out exporting the sounds, otoing, fixing etc. I'd say a good VCCV English recording would have to be done in more than one sitting. :3 I myself have never made one though.
Do not be discouraged though, UTAU is hard work, weather you take it seriously or not. If you feel like eventually you will enjoy a VCCV English voicebank, then definitely do it! :3
I would recommend doing a couple each day instead of doing it all in one go taing breaks helps please do not be discouraged from my experiance with hard work an utau can sound great in any format
As much as I appreciate the messages of support, I'm not planning on recording a VCCV English voicebank any time soon (NORiE's English vb was recorded about 5 months prior to the release of it and I'm still having issues finding a voicer for another project).
I was just curious on who's done it and how long it took them--but thanks for the advice, Goth and Silvery
