pandemia: Hii! I've been lurking on UTAU-related forums for years but haven't had the habit of registering accounts until lately. Nice to meet you!

So, I was thinking about this all day yesterday and just wanted to share this idea with everyone else: What if an UTAU (hologram and all) was auditioned for a talent competition like America's Got Talent?
I mean, we do have the technology to make it possible. It's not really a question of possibility, it's really a question of how well do you think the UTAU would do.
It depends. If it's an UTAU of high quality like, for example, Ritsu Namine with a multi-pitched bank, VERY clear raw recordings, top-notch otoing, and tuned just right for the song they're covering. Then yes, I think it could work out in a competition like "America's Got Talent". If it's a UTAU with low-quality, then no. Judges are harsh. Audiences are harsh. If it's not something pleasing to the ear, they'll write it off as trash and won't listen to it ever again. 3 years ago, people would always say "Ew, Utau is just a bundle of robotic sounds." or "Utau? Oh, you mean the low-quality Vocaloids?"
They’d have to audition in front of an agent before officially being on the show with judges and stuff, so it wouldn’t be the judge’s picks first (I’ve looked it up before).
The agent would probably make sure the UTAU didn’t continue on if it was low quality, anyway, but I’m sure if anyone went through with the idea, they would make sure clarity would be of upmost importance.
