pandemia: Hii! I've been lurking on UTAU-related forums for years but haven't had the habit of registering accounts until lately. Nice to meet you!

Hoping to make this a mini "go to" for little helpful hints.
I want to build up from zero, so please don't mind the quirkiness. work in progress, yepyep -------------------- Recording/mic tips:
When recording, always look at the volume. samples that are too loud may clip when played through the engine. while samples that are too quiet will have more noise in comparison to the voice and be difficult to see when otoing
Set you gain appropriately. Some mics have a knob built onto it. Louder doesn't mean better. In fact, in many cases, recording with the gain lowewr will result in a MUCH cleaner recording. (because the mic isn't loud enough to pick up ambient/room noise)
Record 1-2ft away from you mic. There is something called "proximity effect" and being too close will distort and add lots of unnatural low end to your voice. too far and you won't be picked up very well.
Got lots of room echo? close the curtains, and hang your bed sheets on the walls. if not that, record with your bed tilted behind you. -------------------- oto tricks: -------------------- Pronunciation:
